Cream sugar, butter and salt.
Gradually add flour. My mixmaster takes first four cups only.
Sprinkle last cup of flour on board. Knead the mixture into last cup of flour.
Press into jelly roll pan. Bake 45 mins. to 1 hour in slow oven (about 300deg).
Bake until it has a nice light brown color. The browner it gets, the crispier the shortboard. Depends on how you like it (I prefer crunchy)
Remove from oven, before cools slice into squares, leave in pan to cool.
